A damper unit that clips onto quick-mount cabinet hinges to take the slam out of a closing door. The cylinder is filled with a nylon buffer that resists the last few degrees of travel, so the leaf settles instead of banging against the carcass, and the noise of a kitchen run closing one door after another disappears. Because it mounts on the outside of the hinge cup rather than inside the cabinet, it can be added to a finished kitchen without taking the doors off - push it onto the hinge and it locks in place. The body is stainless steel with a nickel plated finish and a sealed cylinder that keeps its damping action over thousands of cycles. Supplied for full overlay, half overlay and inset hinges, in sets that cover a typical cabinet run. A low-cost way for furniture makers and installers to upgrade a standard hinge to a soft-close one.
