Butterfly expansion anchor for hollow walls, plasterboard and thin panels where a screw alone would pull straight out. The wings fold flat to pass through a drilled hole, then splay open behind the board as the 50 mm screw is tightened, spreading the load across a wide area of the panel. That makes it the practical fixing for wall units, shelves, mirrors, coat hooks and wall brackets on drywall, and for hollow-core doors and thin composite panels where a masonry plug will not hold. The anchor presses in flush and stays removable, so fixtures can be taken down and refitted without leaving an oversized hole.
