Lever-actuated vacuum cup for lifting, carrying and positioning smooth flat materials by hand. The 118 mm rubber pad is pressed onto the surface and the lever is closed to pull a vacuum, so the load hangs from the aluminium handle rather than being pinched between fingers. The maker rates the cup at approximately 45 kg in the horizontal position and approximately 85 kg vertically, which covers a full-size tile, a sheet of glass, a marble slab and flat metal panels, and it also makes light work of dropping ceiling access panels and aluminium ceiling tiles back into place during service work. The handle is thickened aluminium with a wide arch, so the load sits over the palm rather than on the fingertips. Supplied singly. A fitter working alone can hold a heavy panel steady and mark the cut with the other hand, instead of calling someone over to help. Single-unit supply suits a glazier adding a large-pad lifter to a set of smaller cups, rather than replacing the whole kit at once.
