An espagnolette-style crescent lock for aluminium and uPVC sliding windows, built with a die-cast zinc base plate and a cast aluminium lever handle. Turning the handle down swings the cam hook into the frame striker, locking the sash against sliding travel and against being lifted out of its track, which is the anti-theft job this pattern of window lock is normally bought for. Two countersunk fixing holes set the base plate flat against the sash stile so the head sits flush and cannot be worked from the side. The lock is offered in white and in black, letting the hardware match the window profile instead of standing out against it. Zinc die-casting keeps its shape better than pressed sheet, which is what holds the cam hook square after years of daily opening and closing. Suits standard residential aluminium and plastic-steel window sections. Window fabricators order these in bulk for new sashes, while service callers fit them as an upgrade on older windows whose original catch no longer seats. A direct replacement for a failed lock on aluminium sliding windows, where the cam hook holds the sash where the frame has settled.
