A pistol-grip air tool for pulling rivet nuts into sheet metal, tubing and closed sections where the nut has to be set from one side only. Compressed air drives the mandrel at 600 rpm to spin the nut down onto the panel and then draws it up to form the threaded point, which takes a fraction of the time a hand setter needs and gives the same result on every insert of a run. Three screw-on nose tips are supplied for M5, M6 and M8 rivet nuts, and the tip fitted on the tool as delivered is M6; the same tool family covers the wider M3 to M10 range with further tips. The body and rubber grip are sized for production work where the setter is in the hand all shift, and the tips screw on and off without special tools. Body shops and duct fabricators are the usual buyers, since air is already plumbed at the bench and no separate power supply is needed at the point of work. A production tool for a shop setting the same nut repeatedly, where air holds force constant across a long run and the tips swap as the order changes.
