A compact 26 x 26 mm torque hinge that holds a lid or flap wherever it is left, so small enclosures stay open without a gas strut or a stay arm. The friction is set inside the knuckle at a fixed torque, which means a display box, instrument case or wall cabinet lid does not creep shut while someone is working inside it. Stamped from 304 stainless steel at 1.5 mm, the leaf is stiff enough to keep a small panel rigid and thin enough to sit flush in a shallow rebate. Four 4 mm countersunk holes take standard screws, and the 16 mm hole spacing fits narrow frames where a larger hinge will not go. Brushed finish blends with stainless panels and painted sheet. Suits retail display units, electrical enclosures, medical carts, camper fit-outs and any small door that needs to stay put at a set angle without hardware hanging off the outside.
