An adapter that turns an ordinary drill into a powered rivet nut setter, so a job that would otherwise be done with a long-handled manual tool or a dedicated air gun can be run off a drill that is already in the van. The hex shank goes straight into the chuck, the drill turns the mandrel, and the rivet nut is drawn down onto the panel in the same way as with a purpose-built setter, leaving a strong threaded point in thin sheet, tubing or a closed section that cannot be reached from behind. Five nose tips cover M3, M4, M5, M6 and M8, and the tip fitted to the tool as supplied is M6, so the common sizes are covered from the box. The flat spanner provided is used to change the tips and to hold the body while the mandrel is seated. Supplied one piece per order. Trailer builders and shopfitters are typical buyers, since blind fixings let a panel be fastened from the outside without access behind the frame.
