A nine-piece steel number punch set for marking serial numbers, part codes and ownership marks into metal, plastic and leather. The set covers 0 to 8, with six and nine sharing one punch that is simply turned upside down, so nine characters cover all ten digits without a tenth tool in the case. Characters are 5 mm high, or 3/16 inch, and are struck square so the impression reads cleanly even when the plate is small. Each punch is 60 mm long with a 7 mm square shank that sits steady between thumb and finger and will not roll off the bench mid-job. The whole set weighs 0.21 kg and stores in a 30 x 30 x 65 mm moulded case that keeps the characters apart so the edges stay sharp. Used on machine plates, engine blocks, hand tools and workshop equipment. Larger character heights from 3 to 12 mm are available in the same series. A set for a workshop marking parts and plant so they can be identified later, where the case keeps the characters from blunting each other.
