A stainless steel vane air motor for driving equipment where an electric motor is unsuitable: paint and chemical mixers, coil winders, conveyor and auger drives, rotary valves and machinery inside solvent or dust atmospheres. Compressed air turns the vanes directly, so there are no brushes, no spark risk and no windings to burn out if the shaft stalls. The 1960 rpm output runs at 0.6 MPa with an air consumption of about 90 litres per minute, and the straight shaft takes a coupling, pulley or mixing paddle. The stainless body resists washdown and chemical splash, and the ports take standard push-in fittings so the motor can be piped with the same tube as the rest of the air line. Because output falls as load rises, a simple flow valve gives speed control without a drive. A compact, maintenance-light drive for OEM machine builders and process plant.
